I would have to say that this year was the best Halloween ever!!! I went to a haunted house in Rome with my friend Amanda, her daughter Brianna and her friend Nathan (who is my first cousin's son) which makes him my first cousin once removed. Then we headed over to Scary Berry - I can only say that you should save your $6 and you can come run in my back yard and I will run up behind you screaming and I will only charge you $4, fair enough?

The next weekend me and Bu went to Uncle Shucks and did the haunted maze, followed by smores over an open flame and a hayride!! I would have to say that the entire evening was very eventful. Bu was screaming through the maze like a girl! Oh, did I actually say that?

Me Brian, Amanda, and Brianna also got together and went to the Netherworld. That was fun too - wish I had pictures.

And for the Halloween finale I sat all weekend long watching scary movies - The Strangers, The Eye, The Cave

I finally decided to take the plunge and cut my hair. I have been thinking about it for some time now but could never find the nerve to do it. I have had dreams that I cut my hair and I hated it so that would always deter me. I came across a really cute photo in a magazine (dont have it to post) and I have been looking at it for a month. So finally I made my hair appointment on September 20, and I still was not convinced that I would go through with it. I spoke to my stylist Martha (e-mail me for her number) and showed her the picture and 30 minutes later I was SoSoShort. I love my cut and wishing I would have done it sooner...

I was recently told that I was conceited with all the pictures of myself... Well, my response is that I AM THE MOST IMPORTANT PERSON IN MY LIFE!! No husband, no children - so who else is it that I am going to write about or post picturs about. I recently graduated from KSU in December 2005. I have been working at an IT recruiting firm for almost a year now and worked there while I finished up my last semester of college and began there full time once I graduated.

After 6 months of being a college grad, I get it... I need to be specialized, my career needs a focus and needs to be specialized. With my Criminal Justice background I decided to go back and become a certified paralegal and here I am.

After kicking and screaming I am back at school once more. This time for only 9 months while I complete the certificate program hoping when I am finished to be specialized. Why was I not told when entering into an undergrad program that I should have focused more on a specific area that would lead to a career instead of a specific area to study. Fine, go to school and be a Doctor, Lawyer, Vet... What exactly are you gonna do with that Sociology, Psychology, or Criminal Justice degree but go back to school to define a career path for yourself.

My advice think about what you wanna do when you grow up before you grow up.

There were all kinds of bats and such in the cave. For the most part of the trip we were wading in water that was up to my waste. The hardest part was not being able to see where you were walking and randomly you would hit a rock and trip and fall down in the water. But you were already muddy filthy and wet.

Stephanie's Top 10 - Bad Luck

Going out to visit a friend in UT that invited me out there and once I got there the so called friend was working/school the whole time I was there. After a sour argument I was asked to leave, and taken to a hotel and had to find an early flight home.
Sending someone home that I invited with me to Florida because they would not get out of my car after I told him that he would have to pay for his part of the hotel room. So apparently he thought I was going to pay for his whole trip to Florida just because I invited him to be my date for a wedding. WRONG!!! He refused to get out of my car and I called the police and when he said he was not going to pay for the hotel either, his stuff was removed from my car and hotel and he was taken to the airport by the local PD. And that was that
Coming home from that same trip and my water pump went out when I was only 100 miles into a 500 mile trip. I left that morning at 9:00 am and I did not get home till 7:00 pm
Having to pay a $450 speeding ticket because I was speeding on the way to that same trip
Coming home from court from that ticket and getting a flat tire 50 miles outside of where I live with no spare in the car
Dropping my new Razr phone in water. (I did lie about damage to the phone and got a new one)
Coming in next to last at work with my March Madness bracket
Finding out the guy I was interested in had a "new girlfriend" that he failed to mention until after our first date.
Falling down stairs and spraining my ankle
Stumbling down steps on a wet day and bruising my touchie

EASTER!!!

I do love Easter but sometimes my family is a bit much to handle. My Granddad at one point was telling an off colored joke and I almost got up to leave but was just a little curious about the punchline. Good thing I stayed around for the climatic ending of the joke cause it started off like it was going to be a nasty joke but ended up to be a gay joke. I wont write out the joke but just may have my Granddad tell you.

Speeding Ticket in Ashburn, GA

UPDATE 3/18/09 -

I was recently on my way back to Florida and headed through Ashburn, GA and after 3 years this place is still a worker zone and from all the comments here still passing out tickets. My word of advice after going through the mess and having to pay a $450.00 ticket is DONT SPEED THROUGH MASHBURN. I dont care if folks are on your tail trying to pass - DONT SPEED!!!
How to handle your ticket - drive to Ashburn on your ticket date (if anything at all you can get a reduced fine). It saved me $300 by driving 2 hours out of my way to go to court.

I recently got a speeding ticket on my way to Sarasota FL in the small town of Ashburn GA, which is about 300 miles South of ATL. I was caught going 84 in a 60, in a worker zone. I know, I know. I thought I was going 84 in a 70 which was not the case. The fine was $750 so I go to court. Funny how everyone in there was caught for speeding in a worker zone because the whole city of Ashburn on 75 is a worker zone.

I plead Nolo contendere and the judge tells me to slow down and reduces my fine to $450 but the fun does not end there.

I am heading north bound on 75 before exit 221 and I had a blow out. Funny thing is I am driving my Dad's Trans Am and there is no spare tire in the car!! I had to run down the interestate to see the exit I was closest to so I could tell AAA where I was located. I wait an hour on the tow truck and get my car loaded up and ride back to my humble home in Smyrna.

Dogwood Festival - April 8, 2006

Me, Andrea, Ryan, Michael, and Ashely all went to the Dogwood Festival over the weekend and it was so fun!! We played games and got free stuff and watched the coolest dog frisbee competition ever. These dogs were amazing. This one guy had the dog standing up on his hind legs on top of the trainers feet who was lying on his back.

This one guy had his jump on his back while he was staning and then threw the frisbee and the dog would jump from his back and run to catch the frisbee.

GA Aquarium (12-10-05)

Thank you to my dear friend Richard who got me a season pass to the GA Aquarium for my Graduation Gift. Richard Rocks!!! The aquarium was great, I absolutely loved it and now that I have a season pass I expect all my friends to let me tag along with them when they go.

To my sweet friends who have been there for me through tough times and there to pick me up. Amy, your friendship has been very important to me. Your first words to me were, "Are you ok?". At the time I was not, but you caring enough to ask made a world of difference. You became a support to me and helped me through many difficult classes and made school less painful knowing that I had friends to talk to in my classes. Amy, Brett, and Caleb I love you all and want you to know how special you are.

Sure, dont you think that I would have liked to spend the last gazillion years of my life focused on something else other than school? I was asked recently if I had any hobbies. After careful thought I answered NO. How can someone who works full time and goes to school full time have a hobby? Guess what I do when I am not at school or work, I am doing something school related like the fun stuff as writing a research paper, or my favorite, studying for a test indoors at the library while looking out the window on a sunny fall Saturday.

But you say to yourself you graduate 12-15-05. Yeah but you are leaving out a key item - GRADUATE SCHOOL.

So once again I must sacrifice for an education, I sacrifice a much needed hobby, I sacrifice much needed free time to focus on myself, I sacrifice time that could be spent with friend or a significant other.

I would like to say that I have learned a lot through my life experiences. I would like to say that I am a better person for living through them.

I have spent a lot of my time in school and those of you who know me know what an accomplishment graduating college will be. I want to say thank you to my friends and family who have helped me along the way and who have loved me unconditionally.

I want my walk through this life to be full of accomplishments and I want my relationship with my Savior to grow with each passing day. He is my guiding light, my deliverer, and my companion through this life. When he is in my life, my course is clearly paved but not without hills and bumps, when I do not allow him to guide me I am living blindly.

One thing I have learned is to trust the Lord with the how. Lord how will I ever turn my life around? I trusted him with the how and I followed his teachings and I lived his commandments.
